Description

Cinara is a top-notch restaurant in Vancouver, offering unique and delicious menu options in a cozy atmosphere. The owners are charming, the food is excellent, and the service is impeccable. Highlights include the rabbit dish, halibut, and risotto. While some may find the pricing a bit high, the overall dining experience is worth it. The open kitchen adds to the ambiance without being too loud, and the friendly servers provide great recommendations. Highly recommended for both locals and out-of-towners looking for a memorable dining experience in Vancouver. Remember to save room for dessert!.

Tonight was our monthly blogger get together, we choose a restaurant that many of us have yet to visit and were prepared to feast. It is enjoyable dining with like minded people, those who value the experience and the trying of fine foods at a premium cost, like I do. Tonight’s destination was chosen based on one of our group’s previous visit. She wrote a glowing review of their pasta that she tried, enough for us to want to visit, and for her to try more of. Plus, “Scout magazine” declared “Cinara” as the place where other Vancouver chefs go to dine, and that you can typically spot them at the bar.

I was disappointed with the value of the 6-course tasting menu priced at $75. The food was okay but far from being amazing. I would be much happier if I had a dinner like this at an old grandma’s house because I would only need to bring a bottle of wine. The quality of the ingredients was present, but the burrata flown in from Italy simply could not save the lack of excitement on the plates. I do believe they are capable of bringing great dishes to attract their loyal followers, but unfortunately, the pricey tasting menu did not reflect the brilliance. I would still come back here, however, like other chefs who love eating here, I would just get a bowl of pasta at the bar. When the time this post is published, Cinara has announced that it will become Autostrada’ downtown location.

I just finished dinner here for our belated Valentine’s Day celebration and the Rugby 7s weekend, and it was wonderful. The ambiance of the restaurant, along with the recommendations from the staff, made for a fantastic experience.
