Description

CHAM MAMI, a cozy Korean eatery in Downtown Vancouver near several universities, offers authentic and affordable family-style meals. Despite its small size and limited seating, the restaurant is always busy with customers. The friendly, albeit brisk service, and the slightly long wait times are balanced out by the delicious and generously portioned dishes. The menu, with its vibrant photos, makes it easy to choose from classic Korean dishes like Kimchi JjiGae and Beef Teriyaki. The hot and flavorful food, priced at around $10, leaves patrons satisfied and eager to return for another tasty meal. Overall, Cham Mami is a hidden gem offering a truly enjoyable dining experience.

I recently dined at a charming Korean restaurant that offers tasty and affordable dishes. I ordered the spicy pork, and was impressed by the generous portion size. My coworkers all remarked on how delicious it smelled when it arrived. Fortunately, the taste lived up to the aroma as well.

I was downtown for a meeting, so afterward, I was searching for a new place to eat. Cham Mani, a small Korean restaurant, caught my eye with its good food and affordable prices. I went with my friend Baby J, who had been there before. It's located next to Sushi Spin Roll. We visited on a Friday afternoon (around noon) and were quickly seated, as there are only five tables and three counter seats for people watching. The restaurant got busier as the day went on, but most customers ate quickly and left. Self-service water and barley tea are available near the counter.

The restaurant is quite small, with only 4 or 5 tables inside. When we arrived at lunchtime, it was bustling with customers. We had to wait outside for 20 minutes before being seated. There was only one server, an elderly Korean lady who seemed a bit unfriendly. After we were finally seated, it took another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive, which was a bit disappointing. While waiting, we looked at the menu on the wall, which featured pictures of the dishes. This made it easy for us to decide what to order. I chose the Kimchi JjiGae, and my boyfriend ordered the Bento Box. After placing our orders, we waited another 10-15 minutes before our food arrived. My boyfriend's Bento Box came out first, with Beef Teriyaki, potatoes, miso soup, vegetables, rice, and kimchi. The beef was perfectly cooked and tender. My Kimchi JjiGae came out next, accompanied by rice, kimchi, and other side dishes. It was my favorite Korean dish, and the soup was piping hot and deliciously authentic. Despite the wait, we found the food well worth it. Our bill came to around $20 for both dishes, which was a great deal for downtown Vancouver. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Cham Mami.
