Use to go to their old La Bodega DT, food is still amazing if not better.

Had a really lovely dinner with my family here — two adults and two girls (9 and 12). We spent about $180 after tax and tip. Everything was absolutely delicious! My favorites were the Caesar salad, eggplant, and lamb. A tip for future diners: order your paella first, then add smaller dishes afterward. The paella takes longer to cook and is quite filling — you don’t want to be too full by the time it arrives! I went to Bodega on Main by myself on Sunday October 5, 2025, and ordered a Cafe Americano, chipirones, and a paella mixta. The service at the beginning was great and attentive, and the food was prepared relatively quickly and tasty. Halfway through it was a bit difficult to catch the attention of the staff, so I just focused on finishing the food. Towards the end, I couldn't quite finish the whole paella, so I took the remaining portion home and saved it for Monday's lunch. Although service could improve a bit, I still gave them a 20% tips considering the food was tasty. Here's where the problem started. On Monday, I took the leftover to work, and when I was about to dig into the paella, I noticed there's something pointy inside. Thinking maybe it's toothpick or something, I looked into it and pulled it out. It was the squid pen with the gland. My appetite was kind of turned off, and if I didn't pay attention, I could have choked on it. Putting it aside, I finished the remaining rice and chicken. As I kept eating, I kept chewing on hard bits. I kept spitting them out, and it looked like the squid wasn't properly cleaned and prepared. Someone just chopped the squid with the pen and gland inside. There were more pieces, but I thought spitting out three onto the napkins would be good representation of this disappointing culinary experience. For the price it charged, I would have expected the basics, such as properly cleaned and prepared, to be covered. I kinda regretted of spending at this establishment, along with the gratuities.
