What brought us in was the sign outside that said "fish+chips+beer $14!" With a view like this, $14 is a steal! In addition they have daily specials and today happened to be $5 for Long Island ice teas so we were definitely down! The service here was good, our waitress was attentive and always came at the right time! We started off with wings which were delicious! Can't go wrong with honey mustard and original hot, I almost wanted to order a second round but I stopped myself! And my drink tasted really good with the wings but that's cause it tasted like a soda (so I kinda see why they're $5), I ordered another one and never felt anything so...be careful there. We got our fish and chips and the fries were delicious, the fish could've been crispier and more golden for sure, the fried part didn't do a good job of holding onto the fish. Overall, it was a good finish the Granville Island.

So this was a welcome oasis of calm.We were the youngest patrons by 50 years..Service was slow...I ordered a vegetarian focaccia topped with pesto & char grilled vegetables & my partner ordered 1 piece of fish & fries.It was a long wait for our food to arrive & then when it did, my partners fries were cold, so he sent them back. He then had to wait 10 minutes for replacement fries to arrive. But of course by this time, his fish was cold. So the whole lot was sent back & a fresh dish ordered.All in all the food was nice enough, but it was painfully slow.Not the best experience, & with so many good eateries nearby, Backstage lounge need to up their game.

The food and music are great at this lounge. Loved the huge selection of beer and drinks. The patio has a beautiful view of False Creek. I’d been back in Vancouver for a couple weeks and realized I still hadn’t caught up with a number of my friends since both my Euro and Hawaii trips, so I figure... read more I’d been back in Vancouver for a couple weeks and realized I still hadn’t caught up with a number of my friends since both my Euro and Hawaii trips, so I figured it was time to rectify the situation. As I was thinking this, The Italian phoned me out of nowhere as if his spidey-sense was tingling where he knew I was going to message him. I like to think everyone just misses me when I’m gone and sits at the door waiting for my return (Warning: If you own a dog and leave him at home alone, this video will make you feel sad). He asked if I wanted to walk down to Granville Island for some lunch as we’d done in the past, and since it was a beautiful day out and I hadn’t gone for a long walk in a while I was all for it. We didn’t have any particular destination in mind, we just knew we wanted to try something new. We finally settled on Backstage Lounge as their patio was the only one with any available seating that we could find.
