Sage - Valparaiso

Douglas gets 3.5. Claire gets 1.5. Sage is great, especially the patio right now.

Great first time! Had the short rib ravioli, seafood risotto the chicken artichoke. Service was on point as was the food drink. Can’t wait to go back!

In town for a girls weekend and found this place for dinner on Sat night. No reservation, but they got us in right away and were very accommodating. We decided to order the chopped salad, pizza rolls and stuffed shells and share between the three of us. The waiter brought us extra plates for sharing and could not have been nicer or better at his job. When he found out it was my nieces 18th birthday, he came out with a candle in her gelato and comped both the dessert and her coffee when we got the check.Great intimate atmosphere. Excellent food. Fabulous staff. Loved it.

Douglas is the best server I have ever had, hands down! He is very polite and accommodating. Timing was on point. He is very well-informed with all specials and alcohol choices.

We’ve never had better service than we had last night at Sage. Our party of six was seated quickly (we called ahead with reservations). My youngest son is a pretty picky eater and we tried to get him to choose either the kid’s pasta or pizza, but he was hesitant. Our waiter picked up on this and asked him what his favorite food was he said that it was chicken fingers and fries. The waiter said he’d see what he could do, and when the food came out there were chicken fingers and fries! He apologized saying they didn’t have a deep fryer, so they were only baked, but the way he took care of us was unparalleled in Valpo. He answered our questions, took his time, made recommendations, and obviously knew the cooking process as he explained things. The food was very good. I’ve only had better at one other place in Valpo. Again, we’ve never had a better dining experience. Truly top notch.
