This place had been recommended by our hotel as it was very close by. We went for dinner and we booked a table beforehand. We asked for a table with a view and we were not let down! When we arrived we sat on the terrace to enjoy an aperitivo watching the sun sets and the view was breathtaking from up there. Then we went inside to eat and the food was very very good. At last we could enjoy typical Sardinian cuisine. T... View all feedback.
What den222333 doesn't like about Agriturismo Monte Istulargiu:
Stayed here for 3 nights and not pleased to say the least. Dinner in restaurant on our first night was really bad; unfriendly staff, no menu choice, no explanations, not possible to sit outside, no english. Rest of the evening/night we are forced to stay inside the small room because of desinfect spray the total farm got sprayed with. During the second day there was a commune party at the agriturismo. We were for the first time with friends, to the mountain heralding, surrounded by the river coghinas, with an incredible view, we could see the asinara, we arrived towards the , they offered us an aperitif , they gave us the opportunity to choose the table , we chose to eat inside, the waiter was very kind from stefania to katia , and excellent pasquale
A fixed menu per person, we went to the family adults and children, premitting that they made the children pay for everything (even if they served them normally, but in other farms usually make us pay the met or little more we booked a small plastic table, as well as all the other tables outside, but there were no trays that we had to get rid of in a hurry to make space, not having got to us only for the food in reality it was bad
Delicious authentic and varied food in spectacular surroundings and incredible view especially at sunset
We went there just for dinner and it was absolutely stunning. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly. For 30 € per person you get about 8 courses, dessert, water, wine and digestives. We would happily pay more and can only recommend it to everyone.
Had really really high hopes for this place... but left pretty disappointed and wouldn't recommend it. Lets get the good things out of the way first. View is amazing and the outside space quite nice. When we arrived, two little pigs were roasting over coals just outside the restaurant which certainly sets the mood. Initial impressions were pretty good actually, but that very quickly changed. We are fans of the agriturismo dining concept/experience and speak perfect Italian, so the bad things are not a misunderstanding or language barrier; 1) Service super slow and felt completely overwhelmed. Stuff arrived in quite strange order and sometimes had to be asked for. Restaurant wasn't full at all. Bizarre. 2) Pretty average food, with the exception of the pork (which was good but not amazing). Pasta was pretty good, charcuterie ok, the local cheese ok, nothing special. 3) Interesting crowd, mostly locals. They seemed to have a much better time than us as their food turned up before ours, in larger quantity and with seemingly more choice. The big boy next to us got a plate with 1/2 a pig on it compared to us getting 4 little bits. Almost felt a bit like an inside joke at times. 4) Terrible terrible coffee... mirto was disappointing too for an Agri 5) Finally... the smell of farm animal was pretty incredible. Woweee... and that kind of sums up our experience. Saw a white donkey, smelled his mates, left feeling like one for having paid 30 EUR a head for some very average food.
