I have been to l' Olivier many times and it is always packed to the rafters at lunchtime...so get there early if only to be able to park! It is in a commercial area, therefore lots of people from nearby offices flock hungrily for the food and sun despite being practically roadside. The food is good, no gastronomic concoctions...but cheap and cheerful food....and being outdoors in the sun...that in itself is priceless... View all feedback.
What Gavin Marshall doesn't like about L'Olivier:
Daily meny is surprisingly excellent, huge plates, best grilled shrimps. Huge parking, very good stuff.
I have always liked this little place, packed with people over lunchtime...when I am in the area and wanting a quick bite to eat. And this is how we found ourselves there 2 days ago...sitting in the sun with an ice cold Stella and ordering our lunch. My partner wanted a pizza and for one who loves a pizza...he actually had to send it back...it just didn 't taste right. They happily replaced it and he was happy enough. As for me...I ordered the salad : retour de Chine....the return to China...and what was once an all time favourite turned out to be a wasted journey . I was given a salad bowl so large that all I could see was a sea of iceberg lettuce...then the fried roll...and with much digging I found the crushed peanuts and tiny pink prawns. Toss as I did ...that lettuce kept coming up...and the rest of the ingredients remained buried beneath the leafy jungle. The sauce was not good and I did persevere only to give up the ghost. It wasn 't enjoyable but the service made up for the lackluster food.

My go to salad is : retour de Chine...a gorgeous fresh salad packed with Asian flavours. L' Olivier does deliveries and you can call up and order food for pick up. It is versatile and did I say that their location is spot on under the sun. Happy days!
