Unfortunately we got wee who was more a “house wine” and did not definitiw gault millau level! very friendly service staff. we can recommend the place however!
The visit in l’agope and the most kitchen by Koch/Profi sevag agop was an absolutely wonderful experience and we can no longer recommend it. today it is rare to discover something extraordinary and with such underestimated charm. the arrival in l’agope under...the pedestrian zones of valence seduce the excellent food, ambiente and service it offers. sevag agop is a master of the use of crumbs and aromes, which can be partly reflected in Lebanese/Armenian inheritance. it gives its repertoire great f unity. another great surprise were the puddings of the restaurants that we are not pudding food, they are of a quality that I have not experienced since an unforgettable dinner in a restaurant in paris 1997.
After our trip to roar in the normandie, where young chefs make wonderful things with modern kitchen, our expectations were perhaps a liter too high. but this restaurant in valence looked promising. my appetizer, based on aal, was not one, but two pure, so I am. like I'm eating a bowl in. without the eel and hardly recognizable. my main dish, a steak with mushrooms was well prepared again, but a very boring dish. the highlight of the evening for me was the excellent Rhone wine. my wife had a very good veggie starter with aubergine and some crispy cadjau, but the fish also not very kreatiw with pure and some vegetatbles in bäck(?
We came to celebrate an birthday and expected a decent meal, we did not get it. I 'll make this short and I am a chef. A pathetic tiny mis en bouche served at below freezing was the start of the meal and would turn out...to be the best thing we ate all night. Mains of fish and veal were simply terrible, both served with a lump of bland polenta and equally tasteless sauces. NO seasoning on anything meant it became even more bland. What is wrong with the chef, have you heard of salt ? The waiter insisted on describing our terrible food to us like it had a michelin star, all quite pointless at his level of cooking. Desert was billed as a Vahlrona gateaux but was in fact a sliced up chocolate brownie served with 'squirty cream ' what a rip off. I 'll send food back if I think they can do better, here,I don 't think they can. Finally the restaurant is more like a cafe, plastic chairs, terrible art, very bright lighting and the toilet in the middle of the establishment, how delightful. If this is one of Valences top restaurants, France is in trouble when they can 't do a TINY menu like this well. Please do not waste your money here.
First time here, the food was really good and different. A lot of flavors in the menu. The service is nice and friendly, we did small talk with the chef (a nice guy)
