Jose Ramos is the perfect host with a friendly demeanour good English, which in this holiday resort for Spanish tourists, is welcome indeed if like us your Spanish isn't up to much! His 81 year old mother (who certainly doesn't look it) does all the cooking. The dish of the day is excellent value a welcome change from the numerous touristy restaurants in town. Given that it's also one of the couple of restaurants at the top of the hill it's nice not to have to climb back up the hill at the end of a meal. It's not pretentious and a real bonus is that it serves food about a good hour earlier than in the town. Don't be afraid to give it a try it's well worth it it's good value for money.

We recommend especially the fish soup, the solomillo, the hake and the cod. And the value is amazing! On our last night 4 of us had a meal of 3 courses each, 3 bottles of wine, coffee and liqueurs total cost less than 50 euros!!! The owner is very friendly and helpful and he speaks beautiful English though a bit shy about this. His mother does the cooking. Not a fancy restaurant but a really lovely local place with friendly locals and quirky décor (over 100 clocks! Just 10 minutes flat walk from the camp site and an easy walk from town with the downhill bit on the way home, if you're visiting Luarca, you must try the Marisol.

The food was incredibly good value for money. it was simple, but very good basic products and the owner was very friendly, a real Spanish experience
