we went there because it was only a few steps away from the hotel. eating was great. although there was not enough pasta on the teller of my neck. he would have eaten another one. service was excellent. all in all I would go back View all feedback.

Mike's, pour moi, c'est un no-brainer. Quand tu veux un bon repas de base et pas mal de choix, je vais là et trouve toujours quelque chose à mon goût. Le menu était standard i-e comme les autres Mike's. Mais cette fois, la qualité n'y était pas. Food was "ok" if you need something in a pinch. Dessert was better. If you don't speak French, don't expect speedy service. We wont return.
We visited this restaurant on the evening of labor day. Most of the restaurants in town were closed and we were apprehensive to visit this restaurant because we thought it would be crowded with rushed service. However to our big suprise we had a wonderful experience with exquisite food and service. Our waiter gave us so much attention that my 3 y.o was having direct conversation with the waiter. We definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Val d'Or especially those with young children.
Mikes advertises the closing time of 10pm on Sundays, for both dine-in and pizza deliveries. We arrived at 8pm Sunday night and our order was taken promptly. We asked the wait staff if they had Perrier and ordered two bottles when she said they had it. Perhaps "Perrier" is used as a generic term for sparkling water there, but she delivered a different drink and departed before we could tell her it wasn't what we had ordered. Our food arrived 30 minutes after ordering. Both chicken dishes were very tasty but while one was warm the other was almost cold. The wait staff did not come back so we went to the kitchen to find her. I wanted coffee with desert. She told us that the coffee machine had been cleaned and turned off half an hour previously and that it was too much work to start it again for one coffee. Apparently, if custom is slow on any night they start cleaning up early and close the restaurant, regardless of their advertised opening hours. She then left again without clearing our dishes or asking for our desert order. The restaurant was closed just before 9pm, an hour earlier than advertised. When we were leaving, the wait staff became very aggressive over the size of her tip. She became abusive and followed us to the door, insisting that she had given good service and demanding more. I found that experience unpleasant and intimidating, and not at all what one would expect at a restaurant. That said, there was nothing wrong with the quality of the food, it's presentation, or the general cleanliness and atmosphere of the restaurant. Prices were reasonable. I would go again, just not to the Mikes in Val D'Or.

Service moyen, menu varié et bien insonorisé. Beaucoup de fenêtres, endroit bien éclairé et nourriture abordable.
