Had 2 for 1 wings, fish dinner special, and steak sandwich. Food was really good with generous sized portions with reasonable prices. The waiter Sam was very friendly and helpful. The live entertainment was an added bonus and really enjoyed the singer they had hired. Will definitely be back to enjoy the delicious food. View all feedback.
What Barry F doesn't like about First Round Sports Bar:
Very disappointed with our last two dinners at this restaurant. The service was poor and the server didn't know anything about the menu or bar drinks. Did not check back after the meals were served and we had to find someone to bring ketchup and vinegar.....usually when you have French fries it's automatic. Doubt we will be back as there are many other restaurants in our area with better service. View all feedback.
It is rare these days to find real, not previously frozen, french fries. Good burgers and acceptable fish.
We found the food to all be processed - boxed chicken you can buy at the grocery store, even the potato skins appeared processed. Nothing was fresh. Typically when we dine out, we are looking for fresh foods, prepared with TLC. The food was warm, not hot. They were not busy. We went Friday at 1:30, and ordered the daily specials. It took 45 minutes!! There were 3 other couples who were already eating when we arrived and since the ingredients weren't fresh, we were very disappointed. The quality of the food was not worth the price. We also had hair in our beverage. First Round needs improvement.
I went there because I was following the cook, Deb Tranchemontange, and her recipes :) The food is awesome. if you like home cooked meals .Debs cooking is the best!
My wife and I decided to try the food here and I was impressed with the quality of our food... My steak was amazing and my wife very much enjoyed the vegetarian quesadilla. The cook came out to see how we enjoyed our the food and our time there.... I will be back for there fathers day brunch this Sunday.
My wife was in here a few days earlier and said that it was great. So we decided to come here for dinner. This was my first time here.We were free to choose our table. The waitress was prompt with the menus and drinks. The menu had a good selection. The service was great. We never waited long for any of our food. The Deep fried dill pickles were great as was the deep fried cheese balls. But I could tell that they were fried in the same oil as the fish. I found that the Cheese Balls had a slight fish taste. The Caesar salad was good. I could tell that in the dressing that possibly Garlic salt was used instead of garlic powder. I found a slight salty taste in the dressing. Bacon bits are real bacon! A good portion size for a small Caesar. The (Works) Burger was good. A good size patty with onions, tomato and greens. Ketchup, mustard, relish and pickles were on the side. The fries are home made. A large portion for a side of fries.Beer is cold and not expensive. The garden salad is large. The open faced beef sandwich with gravy was very good. The building has been here for a long time and has many name changes over the years. So it shows its age.The decore is sports Bar atmosphere with TV's etc. The Bar is separate from the eating area. The floor has seen better days. There were some chipped tiles that need to be replaced. The leather seats were nice.I found the overall atmosphere very quiet for a sports bar. There were only about 10 people there while we were there. The price was not cheap but not overly expensive.Do I recommend this place? Yes! Would I return? Yes!
