Reviews - Elway's
Reviews summary
Elway's in Vail offers a small venue with a delicious spinach artichoke dip and impressive lobster dish, although the rib eye received mixed reviews. However, service seems to be hit or miss, with some patrons experiencing slow and poor service. The menu focuses mainly on steaks and offers a wide range of appetizers. Overall, Elway's is known for its great food, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere, making it a worthwhile dining option in Vail.

We booked this reservation for a 33rd anniversary. Our waitresses was very attentive to that and brought us two glasses of champagne and dessert when we were done. Outstanding service. View all feedback.
What Stephanie dislikes about Elway's:
Small venue. Spinach artichoke dip was fab. Service was OK , considering prices. Waitress seemed distracted, not invested in our table. Lobster was delicious, rib eye 4 of 5 stars. Dessert was bad, skip it. View all feedback.

Food was excellent and our waitress was amazing, great sense of humor and have great honeymoon dinner experience
Firstly, I just want to say opentable SUCKS. The log in process is completely ridiculous. Secondly and most importantly, we had the most amazing experience. We went to Elways for our wedding dinner and we have not stopped talking about our meal. Firstly, our waitress was amazing. I’m so sorry I don’t remember her name, but she was just exceptional! We were surprised with champagne and cake for our celebration it was so amazing. The steak was wonderful. We ordered it medium, it was a good medium, but got close to a well towards the end but it was still delicious. Thank you for making our wedding day more memorable. :

Nice ambience. Friendly service. Vail-appropriate pricing for a couple of 8-oz filets. The steak rub is 'not gluten friendly, not soy friendly, not nut friendly ' but tasted delicious. Perfect touch of crunch on top of a perfect grilling. Great sautéed mushrooms and baked potato with everything. We enjoyed our quiet, low-key meal. Then key lime pie to top it off. Well done.
The 3.2 star rating here doesn’t accurately represent the current food and service experience. I dined here with a large group, and everything was outstanding. The steaks, appetizers, and sides were all delicious. The service we received was friendly and attentive. I noticed some people are complaining about the prices, but keep in mind that this is Vail, which isn't exactly a budget-friendly destination. Additionally, I would like to know where those folks buy their wine, as I don't think it's fair to say the wine prices are 3 to 5 times retail. The wine list is quite extensive, and the prices are competitive with other high-end restaurants. For context, we also had dinner at Mountain Standard and Vendettas, and I can confidently say that the food at Elway's was significantly better. Don’t be misled by the low star rating!
We went out for dinner and had an excellent experience from the moment we walked in, through the drinks, and to the food service. We sat outside on the patio, enjoying the beautiful weather. I ordered the steak, and it was one of the best I've ever had—perfectly cooked, incredibly tasty, and wonderfully tender. The next time I'm in Vail, I will definitely dine there again.
Whoops I did it again....love this spot! Stopped in on a Monday night 7 and while the bar was full we got a nice table in the back. Service was spectacular as was the food!! Love the warm sourdough bread they serve my son said it was the BEST steak he ever had (8 oz filet) the side of fries he got were embarrassing in the massive portion size) he loves them. The Grand Hyatt had recommended the burger.. and while I felt funny ordering (I was eyeballing the salmon) it was DELICIOUS! Wow, so good and perfectly prepared. Also served with a very generous portion of fries...we could have split those alone. Forgot that I don't love the marg (the mix has a funny flavor) but i ordered it! Great spot to sit and talk, very comfortable I did I say exceptional service!! Wish I had room for the ding dong desert...next time...

Ordered the Porterhouse for 2 and asked for medium rare, one side was done something good, which made the beef really hard, we left a few pieces untouched. Service staff saw it and asked for our feedback, he offered us free dessert, but we were too full of meal so we rejected. He didn't have to, so it was a really nice gesture. The total season on beef could be heavier, as well as a better crust. Caesar salad/ bread with garlic butter was delicious. Ambiance was really nice, perfect for a date night or casual night with friends.
Great meal to celebrate our Mt Elbert Summit. Tim was a great server, please. He was attentive and accommodating and we never felt hurried. The Wedge Salad Dressing was amazing, Bone In Ribeye was perfectly cooked, the Spicy Spinach Artichoke Dip had exactly the right amount of Spicy and the burger was delicious. Everything you would expect from a high-end steak house.
Exactly what we expected from Elway’s. Friendly service and the food was phenomenal. There’s literally a dude named Shark at the bar. Like, come on. His name is Shark. Absolutely fantastic as expected.
Great food and service. I had the rib with caramelized onions and a lobster tail. It was melted well in your mouth.
Amazing meal, but definitely overpriced... the waiter wasn't very attentive with the drinks for people drinking alcohol and seemed kind of aloof. The ambience was brilliant and the first half of our meal was relatively pleasant about 1/2 way through a large family with several small children sat next to us and they ran around and walk.
