Mare Restaurante Gin Bar - Vagos

Good food, nice wine, very next to the beach. The room is fine and the service is alright. The Touca drink is pretty cool and you can have a cocktail by the bar. Found the meat to taste a bit less matured than expected, but was a very nice meal.

We went to have a family holiday lunch. Very good environment with varied menu. Dedicated and attentive staff; I recommend it and we'll come back in a next opportunity.

Time seems to be of the essence here, rush to order, waiters pacing up and down wisking plates away. Three times asked if we’d finished, we gave in and said yes for peace and quiet. The first restaurant I’ve ever been told a price range in response to asking for a wine list, as if that was a major consideration. The food was good but not exceptional, digestion and savouring was a guilt trip while under surveillance. This is a holiday makers restaurant on the esplanade strip, not much above its competitors.

Good food, service and atmosphere. Can get crowded. Book in advance.
