It's a lesser known little cafe right across from VC and should be a lot better known in my opinion. The crispy fried chicken is a very fresh offering and should definitely be your priority. The steamed chicken momos are the best Baroda can offer right now, but what really stole the show from me was the tandoori chicken momos. You were heaven. View all feedback.
What Astha Narayan doesn't like about The Shimla Cafe:
I was curious about this fascinating little place in the hippest spot in town so I finally found the opportunity to visit it last night and I wasn't overly amused. As in any other cafe, the emphasis was heavily on the interiors. You will definitely see some interesting pieces like a glass bottle that uses a faucet and alcohol bottle lights, etc. The food was average. We asked the manager there what "Shimla" was there... Excellent ambience!! Great Food!! Want to try out some new dishes and don't want to spoil your taste buds either. This the the place! Must visit
Just loved the tandoori momos. it was so really awesome. also ordered for kandhari chicken it was really nicely quoted with green masala and the preparation was so really good.. their preparations are different and very good. service still can be better. they don't welcome you with warm smile and when I needed something there was no one around to call. Apart from this the good quality and taste s so very good.
I was curious about this intriguing little place situated in the most happening place of the city, so I finally found the opportunity to visit it last evening and I was not too amused. Like any other cafe, the focus has heavily been on the interiors. You definitely see some interesting pieces such as a glass bottle used a water faucet and alcohol bottle light fixtures etc. The food was Average. We asked the manager there as to what was from "Shimla" there and he said Momos, so if you feel that you might find any Shimla feels here - Don't. The menu has very regular items. The prices are okay. The taste is okay too.
The outdoor seating caught my eye when I visited a store in the same lane. Though I ordered only a coffee during my first visit to Shimla Cafe, I definitely wanted to go back for more. So on my second visit, I ordered Chicken Lollipop, Chicken momos and the dragon ones. Absolutely delicious stuff. Though the chicken lollipop could have been better, the quality of chicken was good. I took away chicken noodles too which were impressive because they had just the right amount of oil and flavour. I just wish they work on their momos dip/sauce because it lacked the spice and punch. lifestylerr.com
