Kerubi - Vaasa

We decided to try the hamburgers at this restaurant based on a recommendation from friends, and we were not disappointed. The burgers had great flavor, and we were so full that we couldn't even think about dessert. We will definitely have to come back another time to try it. The restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk away from Hotel Lietsu.

The food at this restaurant is wonderfully delicious, offering unique and unexpected flavors. The view overlooking Ilosaari Island and the river adds to the overall experience.

We went for a lunch buffet on a work day. It was busy, but there was plenty of tables. Friendly staff. Views are stunning to the river as Kerubi is situated on an island in the middle of the Pielisjoki. Kerubi had good location between downtown and train station. There is a large patio for a better weather. A lot of parking space. Food was delicious! Plenty of different salads, two mains, soup, everything was good! They make everything, including bread in house. This time dessert was cake. Lucky me! This place also has a rock club downstairs and frequently live music. Also meeting rooms for large gatherings.

Restaurant with delicious meals with street food touch/twist. Good burgers, excellent sweet potato fries, very good artisan ice cream. The salads are versatile and fresh, salmon and chicken dishes average. Been here now two times and me or my companions have now tried almost every dish on the menu, no total disappointments but nothing heavenly either except the unbelievable sweet potato fries and lovely artesan ice cream bowls!

It was obviously a bad day for the Kerubi staff. There was a constant hassle with the orders and many portions were sent back to the kitchen. Also the waiting times were quite long. We ordered three meals: one of them was the most popular burger in this place called Tykki(Cannon) burger, it was tasty, no problems. Also the veggie(oumph) version seemed to be ok. With the chicken burger we faced some problems: there was lots of sauce, way too much and the chicken itself tasted peculiar. We told the waitress about the issue; she was very sorry and gave us a 20% discount for the price of the portion. Well, maybe some coffee/dessert on the house would have also been nice. A very mediocre experience this time; what a pity. Hopefully it was only a unfortunate exception.
