We were suggested this café by another store in Gt Dunmow, and we were not let down. The staff were all very kind and accommodating, making us feel welcomed. Although we only had drinks and cake this time, the coffee and walnut cake was outstanding. It was light and fluffy with a perfect amount of walnuts. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in town. View all feedback.

The food was ok, the service was slow and the staff weren’t particularly friendly. The most disappointing aspect of the visit was the lack of appropriate high chairs. The staff was able to find us a table even during a very busy lunch rush. The food was fantastic and the staff was extremely friendly.
Delicious lunch here today. Even more notable was how extremely kind and calm all the staff were when another patron became seriously unwell. Go and have a meal there or coffee and cake to support this lovely business whose staff show exemplary consideration for all of their customers. Thank you to Lucy and all the other members of the team who were working at Meadow Hill today.
We had a great meal. They were busy, but managed to find us a table in the back courtyard area. Despite being busy, service was good, friendly and efficient. We had two platters, and they were excellent, with freshly cooked food, and fresh ingredients and accompaniments. There was more than enough for the four of us. I think all the food was home cooked. We will definitely revisit when in the area.
The food was ok, the service was slow and the staff weren’t particularly friendly. The most disappointing aspect of the visit was the lack of appropriate high chairs. When I asked I was presented with a booster chair which would only be suitable for much older children 3 years . It resulted in me having to juggle my 8 month old daughter on my lap for the duration of the meal. Neither of us were able to eat properly around the table. It really spoilt the enjoyment of our meal for both of us. For a cafe of this size I don’t think it would be too much to expect better facilities for young patrons. (Ikea do a great highchair for £17)
This was our first time here last week and certainly won't be our last when visiting Dunmow again. My wife and i had decaffeinated coffee different cakes which were both fresh were decent portion sizes too all at a very reasonable price. The service was both quick friendly certainly on our next visit to Dunmow we'll pop in once more. Highly recommended.
