After a difficult year, we rediscovered this charming pub that we used to frequent 20 years ago. The previous owners had retired and the pub was sold to a chain, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a friendly atmosphere, delicious homemade food, and excellent ales. We didn't make a reservation for lunch but were delighted by our experience. Terry and Karen have been running the pub for the past 9 years, and we regret not returning sooner.

We arrived without booking , with 2 disabled friends. Given a table that had already been booked .. explained to Terry we will be gone by the booking time ... job done :

I have brought my disabled friend to this restaurant several times, and Terry, the owner, is incredibly helpful. I look forward to visiting many more times in the new year. This is my favorite place to go.
