Jalsa Ghar - Uttlesford
Jalsa Ghar
Description
Despite some mixed reviews, overall this restaurant appears to have some consistency issues. Some customers experienced generous servings and delicious starters, while others found the mains to be bland and under-seasoned. There were also complaints of stomach upsets after eating here. However, those who had positive experiences praised the delicious food, great ambience, attentive service, and reasonable prices. It seems that the quality of the food and service may vary, so it could be worth a try if you are in the area.

Visiting friends and arrived looking forward to a tasty curry. Reading all the pictures on the walls you're led to believe this is a renowned restaurant that is continually shortlisted for the best curry awards etc. Imho it fell short. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the food however was average at best. The three chicken dishes we selected for example were indistinguishable from each other, the lamb didn't taste of much. The bhindi baji okra was fine as was the coconut rice. Sadly that was as good as it got. I don't like giving negative reviews but I cannot really recommend this restaurant. My friend whom we were visiting said he wasn't impressed the first time he went and he said this time wasn't better. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
