Crimson 8 - Uttlesford

Eating was very nice and well present, but found the small portions, we paid for a set menu around the head, but we were all still hungry at the end of the meal, I know I am not alone on this, looking at other reviews, it would not take much to improve the portion sizes, especially what everyone complains,

We ordered takeout from this restaurant and it was amazing! The food and service are always of high quality. Some of the negative reviews are unfair and don't consider the challenges of the current political situation. Let's support our local businesses!

This is the only Chinese restaurant in Stansted Mountfitchet, and it seems they lack competition which results in a lack of effort in providing good service. The restaurant is terrible, and it has only gotten worse since my last visit a year ago. Despite being one of the few dining options for families in the small town, I will never return. The restaurant is extremely cold, likely due to the owners trying to save on heating costs. It is unacceptable to subject guests to such uncomfortable conditions. The portion sizes have also shrunk, with my main dish being disappointingly small. They do not provide itemized bills, only a basic breakdown of charges for food and drinks, and still have the nerve to add a service charge for dining in. It seems they take advantage of being the only Chinese restaurant in the area and do not care about customer satisfaction. Despite not complaining during my visit, I will not be returning and urge others to avoid this restaurant. The food is average, but the overall experience is disgraceful. It is not worth the inconvenience of dining in this unwelcoming establishment.

On the advice of a nice taxi driver I went to this restaurant and had a super meal. I had been advised that portions were small so ordered accordingly. Great food, good menu, good staff. Will definitely return next time in the area! Thank you.

Have always loved the food at Crimson 8, yes portion sizes are considerably smaller for the ridiculous price you are charged. Worst of all for me and my family is it’s always so cold in there, us and one other set of people, (on a Friday evening I might add!! all had our coats, scarves, etc on for the whole meal, and even the staff had several layers on, it’s just ridiculous and makes being there so unpleasant. Even pre energy price hike it was the same. Despite informing staff who could clearly see we were cold, it makes no difference, still no heat. Used to be a regular place to go for us, but we won’t be going anymore.
