We have been there on Saturday for a breakfast. They have a nice atmosphere and nice jazz music was playing. They have organic caffe and eggs for the breakfast. And also cheese, marmalade, gipfeli...etc View all feedback.
What Franziska Zuppiger doesn't like about Zum Hut:
We politely complained to the boss about the expired butter, the lack of food, the cold café and the completely overwhelmed service. She didn't really listen to us and said that was just the way it was at the moment. When we left, Sue said to the cook: The stupid chickens have now complained to me in a really stupid way. . Unprofessional and not recommended View all feedback.
We stayed at least once a month for dinner at Zum Hut. However, the quality of food and services has declined since one year. Not even mention mistakes in the bill, or tiny tiny tiny cake portion when you take away (but the same price as when you eat it there). This is a shame in the face of their other qualities (local and original products, special ambience)
We were there for breakfast on Saturday. You have played a beautiful atmosphere and beautiful jazz music. They have organic caffeine and eggs for breakfast. And also cheese, jam, Summiti...etc.
I remember way back when that location as a shop of a hat maker and his great creations. I love the idea to keep the name. As soon as I stepped in I felt great, home and welcomed. Young co owners created a great card with a superb selection of excellent wines, beers and other spirits! Every label has its own desciption and story, lovely explained. If the stock is emptied they stamp the card with the word: Ausgetrunken . But even those who are not in the mood for something alcoholic get a great choice of natural juices and tees. Each item on the menu, may it be food or liquid is chosen with care. Food is from the region, from farmers who farm consciously and care for nature without the use of chemicals. The food is as simple but heartwarming as the interior. Young and old, rich and poor, artists and clerks everyone feels as I did in there: Great and at home.
Zum Hut is one of my local watering holes. It's a small 2- floored place serving good wines, excellent international ales and decent cocktails. I first came here in summer where they have a few tables in a shaded corner by the weird shaped roundabout in Uster. We were served by a really lovely girl called Laura. She was so professional yet warm and friendly and spoke English. After a few nice ales and an excellent bottle of Portuguese white we decided to make this place our local. It features live music on certain nights, mostly jazz and other non-pop musicians. I have never been there when music has been played so cannot comment. They also serve decent food. It's nothing like the trash you get in typical Swiss bars and cafés (aromat ruined food , rather it offers fresh home prepared items such as unique cheeses, rabbit, game, oysters, home made terrines, wild mushrooms, etc... . Severin and his dad are the chefs and they do a really good job. Severin is also a friendly character and knows his food very well. I used to go every Friday night just to say hello to Laura (waitress/bartender , enjoy my favourite ale (Three Sisters and have a decent chat with her while munching on a small appetizer. Unfortunately, Laura is no longer there and the place has lost it's special attraction, however, I will continue to go on occassion, just for the ale. While the owner (Swiss lady has seen me there several times and knows that I'm a regular, she has never bothered to greet me or have a chat with me. Unfortunately that is clinical Swiss German hospitality: non existant. Get Laura back!
Spartenrestaurant für as gutverdienende Bildungsbürgertum. Viele Zeitungen. Teuer, eng, laut, tendenziell Bio-alternativ-Sozialdemokratisch-Grüne. Spezielle (Jazz- Konzerte und Lesungen. Gartenstühle mitten in Abgasen, da viel befahrene Strassen.
