Sant'anghelu Di Mesina - URZULEI

Good food needs no translation. The appetizer mix is the gem! Home pickled veggie compliments the meat cuts in a soft and sophisticated way. Echt lekker :

Really good Sardinian food in a simple country restaurant. We booked for 7pm, but I'd suggest from 8pm would be better as they were only just starting to set up when we arrived. We pretty much let them decide what we had and it was all good. Vegetarian options are limited, like everywhere in Sardinia, but enough. Friendly staff too.

When I read the reviews I was very excited to go here. However, when we arrived it only went downwards. Tables were not prepared. When we were asked what to drink we had the choice between wine and water. We were not asked what to eat. No menu came. Random starters were brought without being asked for. We said we want a pizza but they didn't ask which pizza, they just prepared something. After 1h40m we decided to leave without any decent meal. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to understand why this place has such good reviews. Maybe the language barrier. Maybe not. Maybe patience. Maybe not.

Sono stato giorni in Sardegna, mi sono trovato benissimo ovunque ma il posto dove ho mangiato magnificamente è proprio al ristorante Sant'Anghelu. Ancora complimenti !!!

Ci siamo fermati per spezzare il viaggio e ci siamo ritrovati in una struttura piuttosto spartana, con una sola signora che si occupava di cucina e servizio. Siamo stati piacevolmente stupiti dalla sua cortesia e soprattutto le sue abilità ai fornelli. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo, pagato poco per le portate servite e apprezzato la vera cucina sarda in una piccola oasi nascosta. Ci piacerebbe tantissimo ritornare per assaggiare gli altri piatti fatti in casa.
