Daily Byte - Urbana

A quick trip to Henning Road to pick up a friend on the way to work. I had to have something to eat and was too lazy to fix breakfast at home. We ate at the counter to make it fast. The server was very prompt, the eggs were good. The problem was the server and another young lady started to wrap flatware into napkins and gossip about their personal lives and romantic activities right next to where I was eating. The gossip also included many cuss words. I did not need to hear that at 10:30 am. I am no angel and could probably teach them some new words, but that would not be my place. I am not their mother. The other problem I had was the other serving ladies had spent quite a bit of time sorting out tip money cash before wrapping the silverware. I did not see any handwashing during these activities. YUCK

I've never been to a combination bait shop and restaurant before. It has a truck stop atmosphere, but the food is good. The service was excellent. Manager mingled among patrons. Not fancy, but good place to eat.

Henks has a great breakfast. fried steak is my favorite. great roggen brot toast too. service is always friendly. great local restaurant. great prices.

Only 3 hours from home away from a "out west" road trip, we needed something to eat. I can never say in the rule, no to cry and gravy with hashbrowns, so is what I ordered. a half-order was perfect for my appetit. the personal was great. you could say it was a popular restaurant among the locals. the caffe was clean and we thought it was delicious. it will definitely be the next time we travel on our radar!

Great small family restaurant. old school type diner with a bait and business next door. many friendly people. large parts. they enjoy the omelettes and the hatchbrowns with sausage engraving. will be visited again.
