What Kyle Leonard doesn't like about The Original Goodie Shop:
Not bad, not great would sum up my experience. My expectations were high since the line was 10 people deep out the door on a Saturday morning shortly after opening. I was excited to try the apple fritter, which had zero apples in it and was definitelyundercooked. I also tried a strawberry cream crescent which was very bland and lacked flavor (while also being very light onfilling. The glazed donut was also disappoint... View all feedback.
We used the Goodie shop for our wedding on 9/16/22. We have been working with Emilie since last year for tastings and getting the perfect cake for our wedding day. Emilie was amazing. She was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process! She even helped with delivery last minute when we ran into some problems with pick up. The cake itself was incredible withperfect flavor. We went simple with white wedding cake with almond frosting and all of our guests were talking about how amazingit was! We will be using the goodie shop for future dessert needs and recommend them to everyone!
Amazing!! You have to try their Tea cookies and their iced cookies!! Great cupcakes as well (the chocolate icing isn?t very sweet though . They also have amazing prices, we got so much for about 15 dollars and some change.
We paid extra for bags, but when we called to inquire, we were told we should have waited 24 hours before bagging them. They had offered to bag them before my husband left the shop, but in his rush, he opted to do it at home instead. I admit, it was partly my fault for letting him pick them up; I never would have left with cookies that looked like this. Since my event was the next morning, I called that evening, and they offered me a 15% refund. However, the cookies were unusable, so I had to throw them away and quickly come up with an alternative. I can't believe they would allow such poor-quality cookies to leave their shop, especially since they bear their name. I’m updating my review based on the response from the business: they suggested it might have been a 20% refund instead of 15%. Either way, I never received it. They also asked me to bring the cookies back to scrape off the logo and replace it, but they said that would take about three hours and they wouldn’t be able to bag them. Since I was short on time before my event, I couldn’t afford to spend about five hours on this, including travel time. At the very least, they could have remade the cookies for me to pick up personally. What I really needed were individually wrapped take-home cookies, which is what I paid for. I’ve never left a negative review for any business before, but I believe I deserve a full refund for cookies that should never have been sold to me in the first place, especially since they were the wrong color.
Always amazing! Check out this fabulous cake for Frankie, our English Springer Spaniel! It’s almost too beautiful to slice, but it’s just too delicious not to enjoy. Thank you for your incredible skills! - Mark Gary
Overall, my experience was average—neither bad nor great. I had high expectations since there was a line of about 10 people out the door on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. I was eager to try the apple fritter, but it didn't have any apple in it and was definitely undercooked. I also sampled a strawberry cream crescent, which was quite bland and lacked flavor, and it was very light on filling. The glazed donut was similarly disappointing—undercooked and quite doughy, with the glaze lacking any real flavor. I believe they can do better!
