Despite some recent negative reviews, Shakabrah Java still offers some delicious vegan breakfast options. While some customers have complained about limited vegan choices and confusion from staff members about vegan ingredients, others have raved about the tasty tofu scramble and special potatoes. The restaurant is known for accommodating vegan diets by subbing tofu for eggs and offering vegan cheese and plant-based meat alternatives. Overall, Shakabrah Java remains a popular spot for filling and flavorful vegan breakfasts, especially for those dining with omnivores.

This place had earlier a few solid vegan options, including a delicious “huevos rancheros” dish they would veganize subbing in tofu for eier. the menu lists tofu no more than option for any dish at all. the only thing that seems to be available is the Shaka potatoes that, while tasty, are not worth the trip and not much of a meal.

Not the biggest first experience will probably never eat here again. the coworker who took our order did not know which vegan ingredients they seemed to be offered when we asked. (probably because he was extremely confused) our group of 8 people did not sit on the same table, but asked us for the congratulate of a 6 party. when we got our tofukartoffels, the kartoffels were burned. when they say they offer vegan options, make sure that their employees know what ingredients are vegan, which means.

I myself and many other vegans I know have found bacon bits in the kitchen.

Stopped by on a Monday morning in September. Restaurant is very poorly marked so it is not easy to recognize from the street nor very inviting. Upon entry, sign says seat yourself which we did but found it to be drafty and cold since the windows wereopen in the front and door open in the back. Service was also a bit cold but our server warmed up by the time we finished. Thedelicious breakfast is the only reason to stop by here because they are filling and delicious. We ordered the Brain (Eggs, bacon on french toast) which was quite tasty french toast was light and delicious. Also ordered the Farmer 3 egg Omelettewhich was served with their Shaka pan fried potatoes which was also delicious and filling. Also ordered a Cappuccino which wasalso very good. If you can get past the hole in the wall look from the outside and the less than inviting atmosphere inside, you'll discover some very unique and delicious breakfast meals.

Cashier was rude, my order sat for 10 min before she gave it to me. she tossed my meal from two feat away on the bench where I was waiting. when I got home it was all mushed together and cold and she did not include my toast. Half of the potatoes whereunder cooked and inedible. This was my first time back in 10 years as a patron, I live 5 short blocks away and appreciateconvenience, but previously stopped eating here after getting food poisoning from improperly cooked sausage 3 times in a row.
