What Monty Hand doesn't like about Millennium Cafe:
Located inside of the Topeka Shawnee County Library, this is a good place to grab a quick lunch or snack if you are working hard and the time gets away from you. I think the food here is a bit overpriced for what it is, but I'm chalking that up to the convenience factor of not actually having to leave the library to get some food. New owners tricia and ryan peterson from 2 kitchens catering make delicious food! start their morning with a scoon and coffee, to stop lunch or an afternoon look.
Friendly staff and delicious coffee, the cherry coffee cake is also wonderful.
Finally getting its feet back under itself since COVID. Best club sandwich in the area.
The food is always freshly made, delicious and the staff is courteous and fun. The lasagna is amazing but the rhubarb pie (only available a short time during the summer! is out of this world!
I've eaten here a few times; once for breakfast (the biscuit and gravy is darn tasty) and had soup the other times (also quite good). What I question is the need for a public library to have a resteraunt inside the building. It's bad enough that patrons are allowed to bring in McDonald's and the like inside the library itself. Since when is serving food an essential part of a library's service?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
