Simaine Cellars - Ukiah
Simaine Cellars
Description
Tucked in an industrial corner of southern Ukiah, this unassuming, family-run winery surprises visitors with warm hospitality, robust red wines and homemade snacks. Owner Victor's attentive pours — often aged before release — include full-bodied Sangiovese and other well-priced cuvées; occasional live jazz and friendly hosts add charm. Dogs are welcome and a wine club offers regulars perks. Not flashy from the street but rewarding for curious travelers and wine lovers seeking character over polish.

We discovered this charming winery a few years ago while on a treasure hunt in the area where we used to live. It's tucked away in an industrial storage area at the southern end of Ukiah. We really enjoyed our visit back then, so we decided to stop by again during our recent trip. Brenda was there to share some laughs while we sampled the wines they had on offer. We were not disappointed, and we hope to return soon. If you get the chance, definitely check out this place. It may not be flashy, but the wine is excellent, and the people are wonderful.
Victor was very accommodating and had great conversation with him. Paula was also there and graced us with a few notes of her jazz singing. The wine was Amazing. Will become part if his wine club
Delicious wines w/friendly hosts! Victor is a very caring man and his wife makes the best homemade pesto devil eggs amongst serving other yummy snacks. Not your typical winery. One would never know it's an awesome cellar looking from the outside! Make sure to stop by if you go thru Ukiah. Reds only Full body, great tastes well priced. Buy a bottle of each cuvée to savor later! My favorites: Sangiovese 365 Dogs welcome which I really appreciated!
