Total disappointment Location and ambience Easy to reach, with a (small parking near the entrance. It presents itself quite nicely, with waiters impeccably dressed (with July heat? and outside? mah... but it had the sensation of a place that was thinking more to the appearance than to substance. We are kindly taken to our table by a young polite waiter Menu And here the mess starts... We were given the menu. No fish at all, only meat (about 4 different plates and pizza. I was totally stunned since we pick this place to eat fish, not mushrooms (when the closest mountain is at 2 hours drive? Seriously? I asked the waiter, that politely (and with a little of embarrassment I think told me that they decided not to serve fish anymore. The following conversation was in Italian, translated Sorry but why have you decided not to serve fish anymore? When we re-opened the ownership decided to simplify the menu. If in a table like this everybody orders a different thing, the cook get confused 5 seconds of stunned silence You are telling me that you decided not to serve fish anymore because the cooks can get confused? Yes I was too stunned to reply. A kid in our group finds something strange on the menu. The first 2 entries of the entrees have different name but same elements Sorry, what is the difference between [entrée 1] and [entrée 2] ? They are completely different, there is an error in the menu, but anyway we only have the first, not the second Another 5 seconds of stunned silence from me My wife I will have [meat dish number 2] Sorry we do not have it 10 seconds of silence Ok then [meat dish number 3] with [beer #1] Sorry we do not have [beer #1] I was (I think with some reason pissed Sorry, but when have you printed the menus? When we opened, 4 weeks ago And in all this time you had no time to change the menu? Anyway, this is marked as a fish restaurant on tripadvisor, when have you decided not to serve fish? When the ownership changed, in February And why have not you changed the description? There are images of fish dishes, and not only from customers! The poor waiter cannot answer, and leaves with our order. After a little he comes back I spoke with the owner, he said that they asked tripadvisor to change, but it will take a couple or months From February is much more than a couple of months! Anyway, we wait for the food, I took meat, most of the other pizza Food The meat I took was quite nice, for sure My wife was not that lucky. She took sausages, and she was sick later on The kids took pizza, and also the other couple. Half of the pizzas were left in the plates, barely touched. It looks that the dough was cooked, and after the tomato and the cheese (and the other ingredients had been put on them The poor waiter come also to ask All ok with the food? I indicated the half eaten dishes What you think? May I have the check please? After a few minutes (I think 5 without the check, I went to pay myself. You choose your specialties directly from the window and they get prepared right away on the grill. You have at least 20 different choices and you can also skip the classic fries and go for the local “contorini” if you fell a little adventurous: pickled onions in accetto balsamico were my choice. All of this in the most beautiful garden you can find in all Lido Marini.

On both of our visits, we were seated straight away and the service and food were good not great, but good. Everything was reasonably priced, too. I can only think that we were either lucky or, more likely, the restaurant was better able to cope with the volume of customers during the low season.
