The place exists lt. Menu for 200 years. Since 1940 it has been managed by a family of owners, currently in the 3rd generation. At the entrance there is a table with menus from GDR times. The establishment is one of the typical village inns, which has long existed. Most tables for the restaurant guests are located in the large hall. Since it has an empor on the right side for the tables and behind it a boundary to the rest of the room, it does not look like a railway station hall. At the first visit we were there by chance on a Thursday. On Thursdays there are squirrel dinners with sauerkraut and roast potatoes. The place was very well visited. Of course we also ordered Spanferkel, apparently the speciality of the house. It is served in large bowls for the respective number of persons. Spanferkel and Sauerkraut tasted excellent. The roast potatoes were too fat. During the second visit on a Sunday we tried Schnitzel. The one carving with rahmchampignons and croquettes, the other is a hamburg carving with fried eggs, fresh vegetables and roast potatoes. The carvings were big and delicious. The Rahmchampignons and croquettes were good. The fresh vegetables of the Hamburger Schnitzels were apparently kept warm since midday. It was quite boiled and not especially warm. The roast potatoes were quite fat again. The services were quite friendly, but had a lot of time. The guests were already lurking when they were looking to order or pay. During our second holiday on Usedom we lived again in Ückeritz. We returned to the German House several times. This time we had a better impression of eating. We didn't miss the Spanferkel either. We can recommend a visit to the inn, especially on Thursday to the Spanferkelessen. The food is neat, the portions very large. Culinary revelations cannot be expected. Overall, I spend 3.5 stars, rounded up four stars. On weekends he is always very well visited, a reservation recommended.
Große Auswahl an Gerichten.
