Eiscafé Veneto - Überlingen

Despite numerous stays in the Lake Constance, survivors on my part are still quite inadequately developed. If you look away from the biblio-lucullic event “Wortmenue” that takes place every two years. Unfortunately, I missed this year's appointments. But 6. to 21. May 2019 can be kept free. And in 2020 the Landesgartenschau will also be aligned. So in the future there are reasons enough to visit the city on the northern shore of Lake Constance. Some gastronomic farms are like on a bead line along the promenade. If you arrive by car, it is good to park in the garage opposite the Badhotel. More relaxed and more picturesque, however, is the journey by boat, as I prefer to practice it. So on this day trip with start in Konstanz. Unfortunately, the Vesper is in a heavy backpack, so that I can hardly use the menu of local gastronomy this time. In the early afternoon, however, I sink into a heavy caffeine hole and still urgently need some splashing before return. Located directly on the waterfront, the “Incontro” operates together with the “Eiscafé Veneto” and the Hotel Dischinger under a common roof. The narrow interiors of the restaurant allow almost claustrophobic modifications to occur, but on the terrace it sits quite airy and sunny, overlooking the opposite shore with the places Wallhausen and Dingelsdorf. I find the diverse range of food and beverages very sympathetic: from numerous ice-cream variations and ice-cream cups (not my thing – what I see at the neighboring tables seems visually but quite appealing) to various coffee specialities, to Crepes, Bruschette, Pizze, Panini and Salaten. On a hot september day, I almost froze around me and refreshing. Luckily, I'm getting a first place out there. One sits on plastic chairs (godseidank not the usual 0815 model, but a somewhat more original part in two colors) on small square bistro tables. The headstone plaster of the pedestrian zone is deposited in the area in front of the local by flat tiles. Parasols donate some shade here and there. The illustrated menus are already on the table, so you can decide quickly. The young service power (apparently a real Italian, not only a cacter, as recently experienced in Konstanz) is quickly at the place, acts attentive, concentrated and routined. I choose a “Cappuccino Jumbo” which is served in a large cup, with plenty of sugar and a packed biscuit. 4.40 Euros are very appropriate for this successful symbiosis of soft creaminess and aromatic taste. At least keeps me awake until dinner. The service is also impeccable. No long waiting times, even the desire for a printed document can be met immediately. My trip to the interiors is less convincing. Despite bright furnishing, it is very narrow and somewhat pressing. The toilets can be reached in a walk-in and barrier-free manner, but they already have a somewhat ramp-up and take-away effect. Collisions with personnel and other guests can only be avoided in the guest room by means of obstacle courses and abdominal retraction. I definitely wouldn't want to sit here. However, in a conversation with a mobility-restricted pair at my table, I realize that locals like these have their advantages: everything at one level, not to handle stairs or heels. Probably most guests should be tourists. However, I do not dare to imagine how the shops run in winter. Probably the place is closed.

We liked it very well. Great location in the first row directly on Lake Constance. The outdoor area is very useful due to the large screens. The service is friendly and accommodating. The ice cream tastes very delicious. We have never seen the creation of mushrooms elsewhere and immediately tried to see very tasty and fun.
