This place is a must visit if you are in the area. Our Airbnb told us about this restaurant and they said to get the Corns to the Miller Henry stew. No menú, they just give you three or four things they have for the day. The stew was hearty and came in a black cast iron pot. It was hearty and so flavorful. A great place for lunch on the road. What valtestaa doesn't like about Tasquinha Do Matias:
We were in a big group, maybe 15-20 people, on a Saturday, the restaurant was busy however we had a reservation so they were aware of our big group! Unfortunately the staff was not friendly and kind to us, the main food was not that good as well, very oily. The white wine was super warm. As the environment, super warm, not ventilated enough! We’ve tried to change tables, but we were not authorised! Only two options o... View all feedback.
Amazing find by recommendation. In a small village with an ancient fortified bridge. No menu, the staff just read you a short list of what they have that day. We had a huge plate of sardines, pork ribs in crushed corn (Milhos no Pote) and salad. Place was full of locals.
Worst experience I’ve had o. Portugal! Service was awful and bc we are Americans they totally took advantage of what they charged us. Put down olives and bread and charged $2 for each without any advance notice they cost money. Then charged $3 for a water which is even more then the hotel . Went to pay they charged us for a meat platter when we didn’t even have one. I didn’t realize it until we got back to the hotel and had someone look at it that could read Portuguese. Horrible that they would take advantage of tourist like that ! If you’re here visiting dont here !!!
We met a fantastic sunset overlooking the old bridge. Delicious homemade wine. Very friendly officer. The food is very tasty, immediately booked a table for the next evening. The best recommendation and review!
