The Salt Cove - Tynemouth

The dining experience was enjoyable and affordable. The views were unmatched. While the service was a bit slow, it wasn't a major issue.

It's a truly beautiful venue. I haven't dined there yet, but they offer an impressive selection of drinks. The place is clean and well-kept. A major plus is the spacious layout, which is perfect for today's social distancing requirements.

We dined on a beautiful Sunday evening, but unfortunately, our meals were served warm and had to be sent back. However, the wait was made worthwhile with the incredible Yorkshire pudding and gravy. As a nice gesture for the inconvenience, we were offered a complimentary round of drinks. Overall, it was a pleasant experience despite the initial hiccup.

There is a massive amount of space inside for large groups and the relatively recent refurbishment has been done to a high standard so sitting in or out are both appealing. The outside has plenty of seats with fantastic views of the sea so it's definitely worth stopping for a drink on a sunny day. There is some outdoor heaters. I have not eaten here yet but the food always looks good. Not the greatest selection of beers but lots of options for the gin drinkers. Staff are very friendly.

The food here is outstanding. We had the fish and chips and a selection of the flat bread kebabs. Everyone was very happy with their choice. The fish and chips are as good as anywhere! You will not get better. Served with tar tar and mushy peas. The chicken piri piri flat bread was out of this world I want the recipe! The only thing letting this place down is the choice of drinks. They need to move away from the bog standard stuff and move into craft ales lagers and ciders, that is the future my friends. Well worth a visit for the food mind chef is good!
