Was Valerie N at Fish Hook Cafe a mag?
Fish Hook is connected to the Luana Waikiki hotel. The cafe opens early at 7am and serves bfast sandwiches and poke. Poke at 7am sounds like the perfect breakfast to me. The hotel gave us complementary vouchers and we were able to try some poke bowls. They had a lot of different flavors and the portions were decent for the price. Toppings are extra though. What Phuketland dislikes about Fish Hook Cafe:
Now, let’s talk about the food: the omelette is fantastic, the French toast is excellent, and the pastries are quite good. I ordered three cheese burgers, one with jalapenos, along with fries. Instead, I received three regular burgers with no cheese and no jalapenos. However, I was still charged for everything. I will never spend money here again if they can't manage a simple order when I was the only customer at the time. This happened on Monday, December 19, 2022, around 2 p.m.

However, I was really disappointed with the Bacon and Egg with Cheese and Hashbrown Croissant—it was excessively greasy. The hashbrown was a deep-fried frozen patty stuffed into the sandwich, the bacon was swimming in fat, and the croissant was flattened and overcooked. I just don’t understand why they would do that! The croissants at the Fish Hook are usually delightful, but they really missed the mark with this breakfast sandwich. Flattening the lovely flaky pastry and grilling it made the sandwich tough and nearly inedible, in my opinion. A lot of people love this café, and I can see why, but it’s important to point out that not everything is perfect.

Our server, John, made our breakfast truly delightful. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was cozy. We ordered the fried rice breakfast and the ahi poke bowl; the fish was incredibly fresh and the rice was outstanding. I will definitely return on my next visit!

The fish hook was right next to our hotel and we received a $30 voucher for staying there and we were glad we did. The restaurant is super small, only a couple of seats/tables but you can also order and pick up. The food is simple amazing and the staff super friendly! The avocado toast is not only award winning but the best one we every had. They offer freshly baked good from a local bakery as well. Went there every morning we stayed in Waikiki.
