Menu is dominated by seafood dishes, though I opted for the Filet Mignon Forestiere marinated in mustard, bread crumbs and herb seasoning, baked and sliced, served in a mustard peppercorn sauce. Ourserver also recited an extensive list of specials which alone would have constituted an excellent menu.

This wa... read more We celebrated our 49th anniversary here on July 6, 2021. We started out sharing an appetizer of baked brie which was wrapped in puff pastry, very tasty. This was in addition to the complimentary tapenade and crusty bread. This was followed by a fresh salad, nice and crisp. My wife selected the grilled scallops from the nightly specials and I chose the blackened halibut, both served with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Both dishes were well prepared and delivered at an appropriate temperature. The evening was capped off with Tuxedo Cake to share. Overall, a lovely experience for a special occasion.

The service was outstanding; our server was very attentive and ensured that our food was served hot. We chose items from the lunch menu, which had portion sizes just right for a midday meal. I ordered the Salmon Florentine, and we all shared a few bites of each dessert on the menu. We tried the gluten-free chocolate cheesecake, piña colada cheesecake, lemon layered cake, and tiramisu. Everyone agreed that the piña colada cheesecake was the highlight, with the tiramisu coming in a close second.

Ever since we relocated to Tyler, my wife and I have made it a tradition to celebrate our anniversary at Bernard's. The food is exceptional, the staff is highly professional, and the atmosphere is simply perfect. We typically select items from their off-menu specials, and it's remarkable how well the staff remembers these dishes. This truly reflects their pride in the restaurant and their care for customers. If you're looking for an outstanding fine dining experience, I HIGHLY recommend Bernard's.
