I had a great experience at this cozy, welcoming restaurant. Upon entering through the side door, a friendly waitress greeted me and informed me that I could choose any seat I wanted. The service was prompt, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes that I received for a reasonable price. The atmosphere was lively with many locals dining in. I highly recommend this place! View all feedback.
What Willis Windler doesn't like about Depot Grill:
I 'm of the opinion that if a business is open you serve your customers, that 's why I 've given your business the lowest possible rating. We arrived at 8:35PM hungry, the lady behind the counter brought out the menu and immediately informed us there would be no fried chicken because we close at 9PM and chicken takes to long to cook ... well that 's why I came here was for the fried chicken so we just got up and left... During our road trip, my twin and I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a local restaurant and we were blown away. The steak special that I ordered was hands down the best I have ever had at a restaurant that wasn't cooked by my father. The fish and chips were fantastic, and the tartar sauce was top-notch. Another family member ordered the cheese omelet and hash browns and couldn't stop raving about how delicious they were. The portions were generous and we left with plenty of leftovers for dinner tonight.
I am disappointed to see that such a beloved restaurant in Twin Falls has declined so drastically. This place used to be one of my favorites while growing up, offering the best late night or early morning breakfast. Despite giving them multiple chances over the years to improve, my recent visit will be my last. The atmosphere is depressing and there is a lingering unpleasant odor. I understand it's an old building with history, but that shouldn't excuse the lack of care put into the food. I ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries, which should be straightforward to make. However, the burger was dry and cold, the bun was stale, and the toppings were not fresh. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil, and even the condiment containers on the table looked dirty. This restaurant desperately needs some attention and care. While I hope to see it thrive again, until significant changes are made, I will not be dining here or recommending it to others.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. It was clean, quiet, and had a charming old school vibe that made it a perfect spot for breakfast. The food was fantastic - I tried fingersteaks, chicken fried steak with eggs, mini burger patty potatoes, and the delicious potato soup. The atmosphere reminded me of the Downtown L.A. Pantry where I used to eat as a kid. I will definitely be returning. I arrived with my wife around 1pm on the Saturday before Labor Day, not realizing they closed at 2pm. Despite my mistake, the staff was incredibly accommodating and did not rush us. I was impressed by their professionalism and may even attempt the breakfast challenge next time. Thank you for the amazing food and excellent service.
The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is always clean. This restaurant has been a go-to spot for me since I was a child. I have never had a bad experience, even when dining at 2 in the morning. The only improvement I would suggest is if they were open 24 hours. They offer breakfast all day and serve fantastic coffee.
