All these low star reviews are probably from people you wouldn't want to eat next to anyway. Prospector is a unique dining experience and folks who can't handle something different leave the poor reviews. If you need to be treated like a princess then don't go there. If you want the person in charge of the food to control the dining experience then you found the spot. Delicious. View all feedback.
What Dawn S doesn't like about The Prospector:
Pizza joint in a small town but playing like they are a hot spot in a big city.....You just don't expect this from a charming, welcoming small town like Twain Harte......this would have been the first time dining at this spot....and the last time considering it. We will stick to Eproson House where food is always great served with a smile. View all feedback.
I'm sure the food was good, but never got to try it due to the incredibly rude service we received upon arrival. The place was freezing and whoever was making the pizza was no better. I was told that having my 3 month old in the restaurant made him a hypocrite and told I clearly didn't read the menu well... I wasn't aware that I needed to read rules on a menu before arrival. We will never be back no pizza in the world is worth that experience. Clearly, we should have read more reviews before going. VPN certified doesn't make you that special that you can treat costumers horrible. Opted to eat down the road and had a great dinner (and finally got warm)
We 've been coming to Prospector for 8 years now (lovingly and hatingly nicknamed Pizza N by the locals, because NO PIZZA FOR YOU! They definitely have the best pizza in the county, and it will run in competition to anywhere in the state. Your dining experience may be impacted by the incredibly rude behavior and communication of the staff and owner. We 're done going there--I can 't enjoy eating in a restaurant where I 'm made to feel very unwelcome from the moment I walk in the door (no matter how good the pizza is, and theirs is pretty damn good. So if you dine here, and the staff 's medication is working, and you love great wine tasting and incredible pizza, then bon apetit.
Had a great time at this place. Pizza was very tasty. I read previous reviews and was expecting owner rude and not nice. I was surprized owner is a character and with us he was very welcoming and nice. Lot of knowledge in food and wines, and other sites of life. Very interesting person and very interesting place. I would suggest to visit.
Great place to eat. Clean, friendly staff, great food. The theme of the place is great and fits well.
I highly recommend you NEVER try the Prospector. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I can't attest for the pizza, as we left before ours had a chance to go into the oven due to the horrific service (if you can even call it service). No lights helped us find our way back to the restaurant, things were icy cold inside (temperature and atmosphere) and to top it off, I have never experienced someone so extremely rude running a restaurant in my life too many things to list here. You'd be better off getting Totino's pizza rolls and baking them at home. Essentially, go anywhere else for pizza (VPN certified doesn't give you a right to treat costumers this way)
