One of my very favorite places for coffee and breakfast/lunch. The space is quirky and lovely and full of sun. The staff are sweet and the food is interesting and always delicious. Definitely get the biscuits! View all feedback.
What Caitlyn D doesn't like about The Upper Bend:
I’m a regular at the upper bend and I have to say I love the environment and the food every time I go. However, I do have one bone to pick. This was a really cute spot. Nice space to sit a while. Friendly and helpful staff.I just had an espresso doppio. It wasn’t the best. A bit bitter, but if I had gotten it as a cappuccino or latte it probably would have been great. My wife had a black raspberry soda. She loved it. Two thumbs way up.I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back, but if I were in the area again, I’d stop for sure!
It’s not so much about the food, which is awesome, as it is about the people. They have found a way to combine professionalism with friendly.
I almost don’t want more people to find out about this place because I’ll have to wait on a longer line, but it would be worth it! I love everything about Upper Bend from the outdoor seating to the decor to the dishes. It’s such a bright friendly space where you’ll always run into someone you know (even if you’re new in town like me) because all the locals know how awesome it is. The menu is always changing, but some of the classics are always available like the maple toast, my go to! Add to all that a gumball machine curated by Nik of Sadie’s Bikes, a Black Lives Matter sign in the window, and the teddy bear glasses they serve my kid her chocolate milk in… it’s one big win.Kid friendliness: They have always made my kid feel welcome, which I love! We try to use our discretion about where we sit (if people are generally quieter in the side room, we stick to the area closer to the counter or go outside) but we have never felt like she didn’t belong anywhere. And the honeybear glasses for chocolate milk made the entire experience for her!

I don’t know what exactly it is because we’ve never had an issue with them up front and we tip well and are always pleasant customers and respect the space. It seems as though other customers don’t receive this treatment so that’s also strange. Like at least keep it consistent. It’s only the cashiers too. The cook is always kind when he brings the food out.
