Contribute FeedbackSaigon Moon in Black Diamond is a cozy gem with excellent service and food, such as the rare beef steak soup and satay beef salad. This family-run restaurant offers superb noodle dishes, including vegetarian options, and a constant stream of takeout orders shows its popularity. Owners make great menu suggestions, like the off-menu special chicken dish. The small, quiet location even has a gluten-free option. A must-try for both locals and visitors passing through Southern Alberta - you won't be disappointed!.
We are staying in black diamond for work and seen the Saigon moon from the road and decided to give it a try. It's small and cozy and the service was awesome. I ordered the rare beef steak soup because I'm crazy for Vietnamese pho and I literally couldn't even stop myself, I ate half of it before remembering to take the picture. I had one bite and knew it was the best pho I've ever eaten I also never make trip advisor reviews but had to for this place. I highly recommend this restaurant!
This little cafe style restaurant is an always "stop here" for us on our trips to Southern Alberta. Stay off Highway 2 and take the highway through Black Diamond to get there. Their broth in the Pho Soup is some of the best we have had worldwide as they summer Beef bones for hours and hours to make it. Service is prompt and friendly in this family run business. The Satay Beef Salad is absolutely something to have either as an appetizer or meal and their Beef Pho great.
The Service is sometimes slow because it is a small family operated business. But the food is definitely worth the wait!
While waiting for our friends (Vietnamese cuisine newbies) to arrive, we enjoyed some salad rolls, and the spring roll, prawn and wonton appetizer. Upon learning that our friends were new to Vietnamese food, the owner made some great suggestions, starting with the Satay Beef Salad (only available at Saigon Moon) which was fantastic. He then helped one friend find a choice on the menu. The owner mentioned that his wife is Thai, and she makes a special chicken dish not on the menu. Two of us opted for the off-menu dish and it was awesome! Best of all, we live about 15 kms away, and we plan on becoming regulars
Whenever we get the chance we stop here. All of the food is superb but the salad rolls are unbelievable. How wonderful...small quiet place with great people. Everyone should try it.
