The best chicken I have had since my grandma passed away. The greens are awesome, bacon perfect flavor balance, biscuits and gravy on point. A very old school charm to the place. The staff is friendly and enjoyable. I can't say enough great things about it.
Down home authentic food. Fresh green beans. Homemade mashed potatoes. The tenderest grilled pork you will ever eat. Let’s not forget the homemade fried green tomatoes.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in the area, featuring an extensive menu and a vibrant decor predominantly in blue and white. The service was attentive and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere that made dining here a delightful experience. The roasted chicken liver was particularly impressive.
The food was decent, but it didn't quite measure up to the flavors at The Cupboard in Memphis. The fried catfish was overly greasy and could have benefited from a bit more salt or seasoning. The fries were similarly greasy. I had the fried catfish served with fries and coleslaw. We also sampled the roast beef with mashed potatoes, green beans, and cornbread, which turned out to be a better choice overall, although it still needed a touch more salt. The cornbread also seemed a bit stale. Despite these shortcomings, I would recommend this restaurant and would definitely come back to try other dishes.
This restaurant has been around since 1937, according to the cups. I had the hobo burrito, and it was delicious; my only issue was that it was a bit on the small side. The waitress provided excellent service, and we got there just in time because the place filled up quickly on Saturday morning. I highly recommend checking it out, but I think I'll try a different dish on my next visit!
