I stumbled upon Sirenas while walking down the Tulum strip in search of a cheap hammock. I was originally drawn in by the handmade jewelry in display cases near the entrance but I was even more intrigued by the owner, the store and the history behind it. I ended up staying the entire afternoon helping Anna, the owner, clean some thread for a new project and organize straps of leather and beads for another one. She also offered me lunch which was a delicious vegetarian ceviche, potatoes and veggie soup, and a scrumptious homemade pizza. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! I had to leave around 7 pm so I asked Anna what I owed her for the afternoon and she would not allow me to pay anything! I thought that was so sweet! I would highly recommend Sirenas if you are in Tulum Centro and want to find an interesting place to hangout with interesting people.

My partner and I went here for a drink one night primarily because it was quiet and they had really comfortable looking chairs. The mojitos were 2 for the price of 1, so that's what we ordered without asking for a menu. The drinks were delicious, and the complimentary pretzels were a nice surprise. The waitress was very nice. The drinks were probably a tiny bit more expensive than other places (100 pesos for the 2 - a lot of places were offering 2 drinks for 70 or 80 pesos on the same night), but we really enjoyed the experience overall.
