This restaurant had only been open 9 days when I went there and it was amazing. The first night, I stopped by just for a glass of wine. The service was terrific as was the wine. They even brought out several salsas they were trying out that day along with chips. Things were slow, so the bartender spent some time conversing with me when he found out I was from San Francisco. He had named the restaurant Drake's in hono... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Drakes:
Went on to have a Paloma. It's a standard Mexican drink made of tequila and squirt with lime and salt. Only ordered one. Got the bill for $150 pesos. Asked him why it wS so much if he didn't use premium tequila (he used house tequila) and he said its because it was a speciality cocktail!!! Ridiculous. I didn't want to argue so I paid but told him I knew I was being overcharged- a shot of their patron costs 140 pesos.... View all feedback.
I came to Drakes with friends against my will, they were hungry and it was the closest thing to us. What a disaster the waiter was actually rude he was also very slow and on the top of that the food was not good and on top of that the place is expensive. You can eat at very good places in tulum for the same price. i ordered a salad and it was not fresh and i did not eat it.

He had named the restaurant Drake's in honor of a trip he took there. The next day, I stopped for dinner. What a great find. The food was among the best I have eaten anywhere. The service again was terrific. The ambiance is great- beautiful decor. I can't recommend this place enough. They deserve to rate among the best in Tulum. Food is a bit pricey, but you won't regret it once it arrives to your table.
