Great dogs, consistently clueless employees.. The dogs are great, buns are properly steamed, and the ingredient combinations are unlike any other hot dog joint, but where on earth are they getting these people? They never have any idea what they are making. It's like they constantly just started working there. A group of guys from work would go every week and it was the same clueless people every time. It's like they... View all feedback.
What Joseph Kihn doesn't like about The Gnarley Dawg:
Ate there to day...4 coney's and a large drink which was very small.... The price was 14.00 ...way to high! A steak dinner would have been cheaper... The hot dogs were almost cold, the onions were HOT and the "way to big" buns were not moist... Just threw the last coney away... Will never be back...to greedy with bad attitude in general... Now I know why at lunch time there were very few people there... View all feedback.
Hotdog Fan. We ordered a frito chili pie, mac-n-cheese and a windy city dog. The pie was awesome. Great chili and just the right tang without being weird. The mac-n-cheese was good but i was missing a crusty topping like it deserved. The windy was as advertised. All ingredients tasted good but the bun got soggy really fast. They should really look at using a sturdier bun for the big dogs. I will return. Yummy.
We LOVE it!. Kid-friendly and the menu is pretty outstanding. No plain 'ole hot dogs here unless that 's what you want. Sides are made in-house. I couldn 't stop eating the mac cheese. Not Coney-I-Lander, but they don 't claim to be. Great, creative food standing on its own. Locally owned and operated; customer service is impeccable. Daily specials, catering take-out available.
The Gnarley Dawg is so far beyond a typical 'hot dog ' joint. They do have what they call the T-Town Pups, which is the mimic of the Tulsa favorite. However, there is no need to try these hot dogs when you can have a sausage. Their Windy City Dawg is the best 'hot dog ' I have ever had. And there is something for everyone on their menu. They even have a chicken sandwich and a leaner wiener. Also, their potato salad is great!!!
Mostly Great Dogs. The Okie Slaw Dog and the Polish Sausage Dogs can't be beat. The T Town pups are a poor imitation of the Coney I Lander. If you get a bad dog don't give up! Go back and try another style.

It's like they're incapable of learning. If Gnarley can get some people with functioning brains in there, it would be perfect.
