Disclaimer: I am not receiving any kickback or payment for this review.)My wife and I visited Saturday night. Our reservation was at 6pm. The hostess took us to our table without menus. After 5minutes or so, a waitress, different from the one mentioned to us by the hostess arrived for our drink order. We asked to see a wine list. It was then she realized we didn’t have any menus. The hostess returned with the menus a few moments later. We ordered a bottle of wine, two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts. The lamb lollipops were the best part of our meal. Tender, cooked perfectly. The other appetizer, Arancini essentially deep friend cheese balls) was just okay. I had the Signature dish- the Chalkboard Beef Wellington. It was not served with a steak knife. It was tender and cooked well, but it was also very small for the price 4oz) for $52. It was paired with tough not Al dente) asparagus and overcooked, but tasty, orzo. My wife was really craving a burger, which she felt was solid. She was happiest about her sweet potato fries. The bottle of wine was good. The desserts, huckleberry ice-cream and bread-pudding were fine, but forgettable. Foodwise, this place, from our experience was just “OK”. As mentioned, it was a Saturday night, so I did not want to send anything back. In addition, this place felt very cramped. And the vibe of the crowd that night felt more like a TGIFriday happy hour. LOUD. If that is the scene you are into, this place might be perfect. But for my wife and I, we wanted a quiet dinner together. From what I saw, this place can not guarantee that. We did appreciate the fresh flowers and candles on each table. Take away. The food for the price is not worth it. $270 for two people after tax/tip). The staff seemed to be spread way too thin. The atmosphere is for groups/friends/gatherings, and not a quiet, romantic dinner.
Small quaint yet sofisticated atmosphere with great staff. My husband LOVED the amazing smokie burger with sauted onions and bacon marmalade with cheddar cheese. My eggs Benedict and smoked potatoes with mushrooms, onions and peppers was fabulous as well. It comes with the choice of potato or fruit cup....I took both and glad I did they were awesome! Great coffee to We will be back!!!! Update: Spring 2023 They have changed the style of the restaurant and the menu...NOT IMPRESSED!!!
The restaurant had a chilly ambiance, and the lighting was quite bright. During our dinner, there were two instances when drinks meant for other tables were mistakenly delivered to us, which required us to inform the servers that we hadn’t ordered them. Fortunately, those drinks were eventually taken to the correct tables. I found it surprising that such a mix-up would occur in a restaurant of this caliber. On a positive note, the service was quick, and our server was friendly. When we mentioned that we were going to a show at the PAC, she ensured that our food and drinks arrived promptly. However, we were somewhat taken aback by the background music; instead of instrumental tunes, it featured contemporary vocal tracks, which didn’t quite contribute to the cozy atmosphere we were hoping for. After we brought it up, they did lower the lights, which helped. As for the food, both the beef Wellington and salmon were tasty, but the bread was rather unremarkable.
