We don't live near a Taco Mayo just Bell and Bueno, so for years since we were in a Mayo. Overall, this place was great. We arrived late at 1130 at night. We had a big meal, there were 4 of us. There was one thing that was missing from our order, so went back thru and they corrected it. Staff were friendly. We ate in the parking lot and went back a third time drive thru to order a little more. We had #9s, chips and Queso, Quesadilla meal, Tacos, Taco Burger. All right.
Ordered steak grilled burrito waiting in drive thru for 10 minutes, first missing burrito, then checked bag looks like loosely wfaped, then get home and noticed the steak burrito was burned not grilled totally black and no rice in burrito, normal I don't know? never been impressed with location in tulsa not much impressed at service last three times.
I came specifically for the Indian taco today because it's Cinco de Mayo. I'll start with the positives. The fry bread was a very nice size and thickness, layered with all of the toppings you'd expect on an Indian taco. The lettuce was nice and crisp and both the lettuce and the tomato were fresh. The beans were the perfect consistency and the taco meat was deliciously flavored without being overpowering. However, I was extremely disappointed in the fry bread because it lacked both flavor and color. It was also not very crispy on the outside or puffy on the inside; it looked more like a tortilla than a piece of fry bread. The grease it was fried in seemed quite old and degenerated. The beans needed a lot more seasoning and attention than they received. I am a cancer patient and rarely eat either fried food or red meat but made an exception for the holiday today. I usually order an ensalada little big bowl with grilled chicken and black beans with a small order of flour tortillas on the side; the portions are quite large and I am able to make two meals out of an order. I will probably not choose to order an Indian taco from Taco Mayo in the future.
I ordered a steak grilled burrito and waited in the drive-thru for 10 minutes. First, they forgot my burrito, then when I checked the bag, it looked loosely wrapped. When I got home, I noticed the steak burrito was burnt—not grilled—and completely blackened, plus there was no rice inside. I’m not sure if this is normal, but I’ve never been impressed with the Tulsa location, especially with the service the last three times.
The food order was incorrect. At the drive-thru, they handed us our order, but a plain bean burrito wasn’t wrapped at all—it was just balled up and dripping with sauce. You couldn’t pick it up without getting sauce all over yourself. Definitely not the highlight of my evening, especially in my brand new car.
