Was Paula Bergstrom at Garibaldi's a mag?
a lot of potential. one of the many holes in the wall that saw Mexican places on the east side of the city, the woman and I stopped at this place on recommendation of a friend. chips were really good (I love the thin flour chips) and always came fresh...salsa was ok, acceptable was a better word really. the menu had a good choice without being overloaded and having some good Mexican classics. I ordered the carnitas (... View all feedback.

Lots of Potential. One of many hole in the wall looking Mexican places on the East side of town, the Mrs and I stopped in to this place at the recommendation of a friend. Chips were really good (I love the thin flour chips) and always came out fresh...salsa was ok, acceptable was a better word really. Menu had a good amount of choices without being overloaded and had some good Mexican classics. I ordered the carnitas (marinaded pork) and the wife had a quesadilla, which was pretty big. My carnitas wasn't bad, but hadn't really soaked in the marinade but was cooked to perfection (something that you don't see too often with smaller restaurants cooking pork) and still tasted pretty good. I didn't try the quesadilla but my wife said it was good, especially for taco bell prices. We both also got an asada taco as a side on top of rice and beans and it was pretty good, though I've had a few better at some of the taco carts. Good service came along with the meal as well.Overall, the food wasn't as dreamy as I hoped it would be but I think there's a lot of potential here since their prep of the food was quite good...I'm definitely planning on heading back here and trying a few more items.
