These must be the best chips I've ever had! It feels like we've all been influenced by big food brands, but honestly, these chips take me back to the classic flavors of my childhood. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Captain Hook's Seafood:
they have asked 20 minutes (for only 4 people before us) to tell the grill closed 1 minute ago. other food was cold. several orders before us were wrong. will not return service: take your meal type: dinner View all feedback.
The tempura garlic prawn was succulent and unique. All the other elements tried were top notch: flake, cod, fish taco, calamari and generous serves of chrispy golden chips. The seagulls were disappointed they got none!
We had dinner from this shop. It was good quality seafood fillets cooked just as we asked and served with nice crisp chips. Lemon was included in our order without request. Service was quick and from friendly helpful staff. Would recommend anyone to sample their foods.
We got the dinner for two at lunch. Better sales tag would be ‘Meal for two’ more suitable for anytime of the day. This pack included 2 pieces of fish, (beer battered, crumbed or grilled), 4 calamari rings, scoop of chips, 4 small garlic prawns x 2 mini containers of tartare sauce and a 1.25 bottle of drink we choose the water for hydration on a scorching hot day. Friendly and fast service. Gave 4 stars because I felt the fish and chips were a little over cooked. On the plus plus side. They are very generous with the chips and the pack itself was nearly presently we thought. So well done Captain Hook. One suggestion... change the front door to a roller door to open up the shop and make it more inviting. A renovation would do the shop some good.
Great service only had chips and gravy best **** chips so satisfying. Hard to find good crunchy chips soft inside salted not to much. Gravy wasnt very good very watery and thin not much flavour. Will be back to try fish and get some more chippies
Top place at Tungun to get fish scallops and many other takeaway foods. Limited seating out the front under cover. Well used by locals Potatoes scallops are really worth the visit. Limited supply of fresh fish which means it's fresh. Try the Whiting tail's. Forget the Hake shark) it's no different to the run of mill frozen imported second rate fish. Try to buy Australian fresh and you will enjoy the experience more. Of very busy so expect to wait 15-20mins.
