A tad perplexed we sat in the... read more We had booked the tepee so on arrival we asked where to go and we were told that they had a wedding there and it wouldn't be open. A tad perplexed we sat in the bar and looked at the menu. We were told the tepee closes at 7:30 anyway- but we thought that was what we had booked!? The website does not make it clear that the tepee closes at 7:30 so anything after that would be in the bar. Our choices were to eat in the bar or go upstairs to the far more expensive menu. Being our wedding anniversary, we decided to eat upstairs. We had anticipated a nice evening in the tepee so after all we didn't want to sit in the bar. We went with the taster menu and we were not disappointed with it-it was exceptional. Although a far more expensive evening, and a little frustrating to start with it was really nice. I discovered this restaurant one evening while browsing through the Michelin Guide website. I was excited to try a highly recommended restaurant close to home. The first impression was positive, with a beautiful building and setting, and friendly staff. We were seated upstairs in a charming dining room, enjoying a red wine. However, the food fell short of our expectations. The flatbreads were topped with flavorful smoked nduja and garlic butter, but the bread itself was stale and chewy. The bone marrow was lacking in flavor and the salmon was bland. The main courses, including an overpriced sirloin steak and a small, dry partridge, were disappointing. The side dishes, like the leaks, lacked flavor and were poorly prepared. Overall, the meal was a letdown and we left feeling unsatisfied. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

You ge... read more I always stay here when working away. The apple juice is perfection, the rooms are brilliant the stay all in all are absolutely incredible for the money. You genuinely couldn't ask for more. I'd highly recommend this place even if it's just a couple nights getaway with the Mrs and dog or whatever. I can't rate this place enough. Love it here.
