I visited Tucson 9 months ago and I still can't stop thinking about the delicious hot dog I had there. The Kartoffelbunk was perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The speck was tender and the price was unbeatable - I believe it was only $2 per hot dog. I regret only getting one! Hopefully this place expands to Phoenix soon. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ruiz Hot Dogs Los Chipilones:
if she chipilones, this place is good. only a few notes, only cash, and it's the only one on the menu, so it's not what you want? how many do they want? I should have ordered more. View all feedback.
We had a great time at this food truck. The Sonoran dogs were a new experience for us and we were happy to try them for the first time here. The toppings and add-ons were a nice mix and we really enjoyed them. The cash-only policy was a bit of a surprise but we appreciated it. Overall, this place serves the best Sonoran dogs.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years and it has always been great. I especially love the way they grill the pepper on the side.

The Sonoran hot dog is a style of hot that originated in Hermosillo , the capital of the Mexican state of Sonora, in the late 1980s.[1][2] It is popular in Tucson,[3][4][5][6] Phoenix,[7] and elsewhere in southern Arizona.[8] It consists of a hot dog that is wrapped in bacon and grilled, served on a bolillo-style hot dog bun, and topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and a variety of additional condiments, often including mayonnaise, mustard, and jalapeño salsa. Got this from Wikipedia.. With that being said, these hot dogs are unique and delicious. For $3.50 a piece you can't go wrong. Although, I would've loved for them to be an all beef hot dog we can't always get what we want. Honestly, I think they only sell this and some drinks. I couldn't even find the menu hahahah The avocado salsa was epic!
