If you like non-pretentious, authentic dive bars with really good food, Iguana Cafe is your new favorite haunt in downtown Tucson. I recommend the carne con chile which isn't listed on the menu, but is so good! It's like the Tucson version of Cheers but with way better food. What Clement West doesn't like about Iguana Cafe:
The first thing I want to say is that I love this place. It has a real neighborhood Mexican bar vibe. Mexican love songs playing on the juke box. The fanciest beer on tap is Dos Equis. But then I order the Chicken Chimichanga. I've only lived in Tucson for 4 months so I'm not an expert on Chimichanga's. So I had to look it up. The filling isn't supposed to be only chicken. I love the iguana cafe bar. I enjoy the great atmosphere, cold beer great eating. I held on Sunday afternoon the bartender melissa made me the best michaelada ever, she made it just as I like it. the bartender melissa also makes eating on point. She's the best.
The drinks are well prepared by Melissa , Liz Richard.. And the food is the bomb. .. Starting off with Jarumi , Tania y Donia Rosi La jeffa... Come thru , Friday and Saturday night karaoke.....
Great food and drinks, good selection, music is very loud though.
