Reviews summary

Set inside a characterful historic adobe in Barrio Viejo, this restaurant dazzles with craft cocktails, talented bartenders, a charming patio and frequent live music. Service and atmosphere often shine, and the connected café and speakeasy add novelty. Food is inventive but inconsistent — from standout small plates to overcooked entrées, burned items and limited gluten‑free options — and prices skew high. A memorable evening for cocktail and music lovers, but expect variability in food and service.

My last night in Tucson and my son?s friend Tiffany arranged for us to have dinner at the Coronet where she works. It is on the edge of the Barrio and a very cool building with a lot of character. Tiffany selected two small plates for us to try-the ShrimpPatacones and the Bossam-both outstanding! We decided to split the Rib-eye with to die for potatoes and mushrooms. The meat wascooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious! We finished with an almond cake served with berries and cream that completed amost memorable meal! A great selection of drinks as well!

Outstanding experience! Miguel was very knowledgeable about the menu with food and wine pairings, and his suggestions were spot on! To have the opportunity at a restaurant to have someone who is so passionate about what he does was truly an enjoyable andmemorable experience. We sat in the lovely courtyard and our meals were cooked perfection. The presentation and coordinatingsides were unusual and full of flavor and texture. We haven?t had a dining experience like this in a long time and I just can?tsay enough about it! Next time we are in Tucson, we would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you!

We recently chose The Coronet for my mother's 80th birthday party. Sally Kane was fantastic and very prompt with communication in setting up our event for approx. 30 people. Sally carefully curated a stationed menu for our guests based on favoriteflavors. The Coronet is a beautiful Territorial era property with two courtyard areas perfect in the evening time in lateApril. Our crew of four (yes, 4 dedicated professionals for our small group! was very attentive all night. Anna , Noah, andBreanna were true professionals and kept timing of courses, toast, and dessert running all night. Their balance of attentivenesswas spot on. Keila is a master behind the bar. Everyone enjoyed her concoctions from signature cocktails to requests, served upin the perfect glassware. The food was delicious. Locally sourced and sustainable, the menu is a creation of seasonal flavorsthat don't disappoint. My mother loves fried calamari and we found this to be a perfectly light and not oily at all. We hadseveral entree choices but the pancetta wrapped chicken and the flat iron steak with fresh chimichurri were awesome. Sallyfollowed this up with birthday chocolate rum and cherry cupcakes with light Italian buttercream frosting. I see a lot ofreviews on concern of portion sizing our event was different so we had plenty to go around and pricing. The portions aredesigned to share tapas style so you may want to order an extra plate. The flavors are all great so you can't go wrong there. Itcan cost a little more for fresh, small sourced ingredients and menus always depend on what is seasonably available TheCoronet chef does a great job of creating with what is available. It may not be your weekly hangout but for our very specialoccasion, we found the service, the food and the ambiance to be just what we hoped for. Thank you, Sally!

If you're hoping to sit outdoors, be sure to make a reservation, as it's the most sought-after seating option. The food is good and appears to be locally sourced. Portions are a bit on the smaller side, but it's definitely worth it.

Charming place! The food is excellent, the interior is adorable, and the outdoor patio has a magical atmosphere. When we visited, there was a folk band performing live, which added a lovely touch—I’m not sure if that happens regularly, but it really enhanced the experience. The cocktails were decent, but nothing special. The service was fantastic. I would definitely return!

What a pleasant surprise. Our experience was great. Food, service, drinks all top notch. The menu is inspired and an interesting twist on classic food with a south western influence. Much enjoyed break from a steady steam of tacos. Love the building as well. Great job.

Lovely courtyard patio seating with unique cocktails and a fairly good wine list. Had the sea bass and wild boar pasta. Pasta was good but the fish was better.

A little pricey, but the menu and location are 5 star. Located in a historic adobe in the Barrio Viejo. Courtyard tables, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Our crostini isn 't for everyone 's palate. I went ahead and grabbed the other bread for your table. Was the manager 's response to their bread being burned. Our stay here was, to be brief, bad. My family went out to eat here for my mothers birthday. The hostess, Tiffany, sat us with a Your server tonight will be Levi, he is amazing and will be treating you well tonight. That, it turns out, was a lie. Levi was way more interested in helping a table with two pretty girls. Our drinks were the only thing made well. Props to the bartender. They know what they are doing. their preserved lemon and olive with crostini is labeled as GF (gluten free) however...they do not offer GF bread? When inquired they said the entire thing is GF... except the bread. Cool, they put the bread on the side. however...they burned it. When I flagged down another server (because ours was paying attention to the two girls table), they brought out the manager. She fixed it by insulting our collective palate and bringing another type of bread...that wasn 't burned. I also talked to her about the blue cheese wedge salad. The previous time I had been here I ordered something very similar and it was...a wedge. This was a normal salad. I was confused and they simply said that 's what I ordered. our entrees came out in a timely fashion, if not very poor states. the main course was steak, frog legs, salads, trout, and chicken. A large order. everything was okay except the fish. over cooked and dry, and the rice was so overdone and dry it was completely inedible. Our server was still not helping us. After flagging down another server they apologized and got the manager. Our server came back during that time and we talked to him about the poor tasting food...and he took it away, said I hope you enjoy the rest of your meal and walked off! He didn 't offer anything in replacement. Manager comes back, talks to us for a second and asks if they can make us something else. She then gets our the check (with three items taken off) and leaves. we waited a 5ish minutes. decided to pay cash and then leave. 3 of the 4 people the next day had upset stomachs. $240 with a tip...0/5, will never give them business again. Guess our palates aren 't sophisticated enough to appreciate their food?

Highlights: well-trained attentive staff, and plenty of them Patio dining with live music setting the background mood Nice plates shared by two with an abundance of flavors and just enough to not over stuff but just feeling fine Manager perusing the crowd to get the vibe and ensure positive experience A winner overall. I’m a woman weighing nearly 200 pounds. If you’re really hungry, this might not be the place for you. I enjoyed the delicious meal in about five minutes, then headed to McDonald’s afterward. Coronet offers amazing food and is a great spot to dine alone or with friends and family.

We recently chose The Coronet to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. Sally Kane was fantastic and very responsive throughout the planning of our event for about 30 guests. The Coronet is a stunning Territorial-era building featuring two beautiful courtyards, perfect for an evening in late April. Our team of four dedicated staff members—Anna, Noah, Breanna, and Keila—were incredibly attentive all night. Anna, Noah, and Breanna ensured the timing of courses, toasts, and dessert flowed seamlessly, striking the perfect balance of attentiveness. Keila impressed behind the bar, delighting everyone with her signature cocktails and custom requests, always served in ideal glassware. The food was outstanding—locally sourced, sustainable, and full of seasonal flavors that truly shined. My mother’s favorite fried calamari was light and not greasy at all. Among the entrees, the pancetta-wrapped chicken and flat iron steak with fresh chimichurri stood out as exceptional. Sally also surprised us with delicious chocolate rum and cherry cupcakes topped with light Italian buttercream for the birthday celebration. Regarding portion sizes, our experience was different from some reviews; we had plenty to share since the menu is designed for tapas-style dining, so you might want to order an extra plate or two. Prices reflect the use of fresh, small-batch ingredients, and the chef does an excellent job crafting dishes based on seasonal availability. While The Coronet may not be an everyday spot, for our special occasion it offered exactly the service, food, and ambiance we hoped for. Thank you, Sally!
