What Leah Cox doesn't like about Barnfire Mesquite Grill?:
I've tried this place a couple of times trying to give it a fair shake. Both times I've been underwhelmed. Expensive for what I can only compare to cafeteria food. Ordered a chicken salad, it came out as a side salad with a whole chicken breast on the side. Chicken breast had a rubbery texture. Ordered a loaded baked potato, it came out plain with all the toppings in to go ramekins. Just like cafeteria. The bbq grill... View all feedback.
I would have given them 5 stars, but my wife ordered a salad without onions and it came with onions. However, I had the brisket and it was fantastic - juicy and incredibly tender!
Two friends suggested we meet at Barnfire for lunch. This would be my first opportunity to eat there. I was the first to arrive at Barnfire. I hadn't seen my friends for a while so I was excited to meet them for lunch. The dining room was warm and invitingwith a western theme. We were seated immediately and our server was prompt with menus and drink orders. She actually had toreturn a couple of times to take our food order because we were so busy catching up. I must say she was most gracious aboutdoing so. After our order was taken, it seemed like no time had passed before she was bringing our food. Both of my friendsordered the smoked pulled pork sandwich with fries. One ordered crinkle cut fries and the other ordered Texas fries. You see, they offer three types of fries there! The other being steak fries. How cool is that? I had a hankering for a burger, so Iordered a big Texas burger with swiss cheese and a half side of beer batter onion rings. The smoked pulled pork sandwiches wereso good that I can attest not a single bite was left on the plate of either of my friends. And the fries, the same can be saidfor them! My friends affirm they were both very good????. As for my burger, yum! It was tasty, moist, and cooked to perfection! My hankering for a burger was satisfied! How about the beer batter onion rings you ask? OMG! Loved them!???? They were so tasty, light and crispy! They were worth the extra denero I paid for them. Good rings don't come along often. When you find them, buythem! Thank you Barnfire for a delicious meal delivered in a very timely manner by a server with a great attitude and a smile!????
We waited over an hour for our food and it definitely was not worth what we paid for. VERY disappointed. I asked for a manager and never once did a manager come to my table. Our waitress was nice but wasn?t very good and kept forgetting stuff. And itwasn?t even busy.
This restaurant is expensive and the Brisket was dry and had a taste similar to pot roast. It is definitely not authentic Texas barbecue.
My husband and I visited Barnfire restaurant tonight with our son for a meal. We were seated promptly, but waited almost 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders and meals. The menus were not accurate, as my brisket sandwich was supposed to come with 2 sides according to the menu, but the waitress said it was only 1 side. She also charged extra for a salad. We waited 20 minutes for our salads and another 20 for our food. My husband's pasta was supposed to come with garlic bread, but it never arrived. When we asked, the waitress said the menu was wrong again. When my husband complained, the waitress argued with him and said the manager was in another room celebrating a birthday and didn't want to be disturbed. We had to track someone else down for boxes and had to pay at the front because the waitress never returned. We were very disappointed with the service and inaccuracies in the menu. We don't plan on returning.
